The Lutheran Church Vestavia Hills, Alabama, USA has been supporting Education with in the Lutheran Church of Uganda for over 12 years under ‘Project HOPE’. Two of the earliest supported beneficiaries of Project Hope Education Sponsorship Program, Vincent Kagodo and Resty Babirye graduated with Bachelors of Laws and Bachelors of Engineering respectively.
Vestavia Hills Lutheran Church under ‘Project HOPE’ works and supports three Lutheran Church of Uganda Communities of Kateete – Mukono District, Bukobbo – Luuka District and Naminage – Kamuli District.

The Project supports these communities through Education, Health & Sanitation and Income generating Activities like Piggeries, Maize mills among others

Recently, the project registered two graduations both from the same family of Mrs. Nakate Constance.

The graduates include Resty Babirye and Kagodo Vicent. Resty graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in law and Vicent with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

These graduates, their widowed mother, Mrs. Nakate Constance and the entire family were and still are very grateful to God for the blessings He endowed on them through Project Hope under the Lutheran church of Uganda.

They are very happy and excited to explore the world through their different careers.

While testifying at the ceremony, Babirye Resty appreciated the Lutheran Church of Uganda for the opportunity. ” I have been under sponsorship by the Lutheran church of Uganda since 2008. I graduated with second class Upper degree in law and am now finishing a post graduate Diploma in legal practice (bar course) at Law Development Center, Kampala” Babirye testifies. “I would love to express my gratitude and appreciate you for the support and giving me opportunity to achieve my dream of becoming a lawyer” she adds.

Vincent Kagodo the second Graduand, appreciated the Bishop of the Church Bishop Charles Bameka for the tireless effort toward his studies. “Thanks you Bishop for the wonderful work done. Through Prayers and ambitions, Reverend Clifford gave me a chance together with sisters to go to school and have a gift of education” Kagodo asserts. He added, ” I joined the University in 2017 as a Civil Engineer and graduated in 2021 December with Second class Upper” he rants.
