42 men from Bubago-Kamuli district, Jinja and Buyende attended the Men’s Conference that was held at Bubago Lutheran Primary School in Kamuli.

The conference, funded by Connect to Uganda, was intended to equip knowledge to the men to fight against Domestic Violence and Human rights as a way of protecting wives in the homes of the target communities.

The Keynote Speakers were Kasujja Shafic the Probations Officer Kamuli District, Waako Andrew and Annet Nyonyintono both Human Rights Advocates from Jinja City as well as two community leaders, Kagoya Margaret and Mwiru John of Busige Busige

Connect to Uganda, through the ‘Far Away Friends` women program had earlier on received information from her members and community women about the high prevalence of domestic violence against women in the target communities.

Betty Tamugwaniza the C2U FarAway friends Administrator said that the participants did appreciate the teachings against domestic violence and empowering their Women in the community.
